Both Deceased Students Identified in Brown University Shooting as Law Enforcement Press On With Manhunt for Perpetrator.

Both young individuals who died in Saturday’s tragic incident on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – amid a widespread hunt for their assailant carried on following the freeing by Rhode Island officials of the single suspect of interest in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was remembered as “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, as stated by the Advent Cathedral in Birmingham, which honored her memory at a gathering on Sunday.

Cook was second-in-command of Brown’s division of the campus GOP group, as the club stated. The White House press secretary also expressed words of sorrow publicly, saying in part: “Words cannot express. Remembering her loved ones and companions, particularly her mother and father.”

MukhammadAziz Umurzokov

The second fatality was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, an Uzbek national in his initial year at the Ivy League university, his family confirmed.

Umurzokov’s identity was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. His ambitions were lofty of entering the field of neurosurgery and aiding others,” Samira Umurzokova, his sister said in a memorial statement.

The Shooting Incident

Nine other people were hurt in the weekend shooting in the school of engineering of Brown’s grounds in Providence, during the university's examination week.

Law enforcement reported on Sunday evening that a 24-year-man detained in a search at a hotel about approximately 17 miles from the campus earlier in the day was released from custody.

“A perpetrator remains free,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you need to change course and head another way, and this is precisely what occurred over the last 24 hours or so.”

Public Fear

The city's mayor, Brett Smiley, noted: “This will probably generate renewed concern for our public”.

The gunman discharged a weapon inside a lecture hall in the building on over the weekend, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm handgun, a police source informed the media outlet.

Police that entered the lodging recovered a pair of pistols and two ammunition clips when the suspect was taken into custody, as was reported.

Those Hurt

Regarding the nine injured, a single scholar was released from the hospital, said Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in grave but unchanging health, and one remained in critical care, officials reported on Sunday.

An educational institution, a private K-12 school in the city of Durham, said a recent graduate, Kendall Turner, was among those critically wounded.

More Condolences

Cook was honored at a church service in Birmingham on Sunday. A clergyman said, “Her presence was a wonderful, steady, pious glow not only during her upbringing... but at Brown she was an incredible light in that institution as well.”

A group leader, Martin Bertao, shared a message from the club. “She was famed for her fearless, heroic, and gentle spirit as she aided her club and peers,” he said.

Jonathan Henick, Jonathan Henick, said he was “deeply saddened” by Umurzokov’s death in a tribute. “Our profound condolences go out to Mr Umurzokov’s family, friends, and peers and lament the passing of his promising future.”
