Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of personalities, and a gripping narrative featuring divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will split off from the main group to embark on their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
First, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and The healer, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his salvation and will now go with him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the authorities that control the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The character are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of the traitor.
