Tehran is prepared to restart nuclear negotiations with Washington provided that it is treated with "respect" and "honor", Iran's foreign minister has announced.

Abbas Araghchi stated exclusively dialogue produced results, and shared fresh requests had come from intermediaries to restart negotiations with the American leadership. He claimed Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran was not yet able to authorize the UN nuclear inspectorate to visit attacked atomic facilities for safety concerns.

Walking a Complex Path

The foreign minister is navigating a complex course since Iran aims to avoid be perceived to be proceeding from a stance of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out more powerful in military terms and mentally from the Israeli-US attack on its enrichment centers in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "an inalienable right to process nuclear material on home soil that it will perpetually retain" – the key factor of the deadlock in the prior discussions.

Earlier Talks Abruptly Ended

The earlier sessions of discussions between the US and Iran were brought to an abrupt and hostile termination on 12 June when Israel, with Washington's assistance, struck Iran's enrichment centers in a 12-day war that ended with Donald Trump claiming the sites had been destroyed. Afterward, European countries employed their privilege to reimpose global restrictions, but Iran asserts they have not had a substantial consequence.

Magic Solution Offered

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the enrichment issue in prior discussions, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could enrich uranium. The two nations would have been able to declare success since domestic enrichment would have remained and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been decided in the talks that US nuclear scientists could function inside Iran, but that was a logical implication of the partnership suggestion. Representatives asserted repeatedly they had achieved a deal with the US representative the US official only for the agreement to fall apart due to "spoilers in Washington".

Current Status

Iran's diplomats declared the cooperative arrangement was now no longer available, but it seems very probable the suggestion could be revived in some form if negotiations resume.

In his remarks to the conference, designed to portray the US as a dominant force that abuses the idea of international law, the foreign minister said the 12-day war showed the dispute could not be ended by combat operations. He stated the strikes commenced with a Washington's ultimatum for an complete Tehran capitulation and ended with an unconditional call for a ceasefire.

Iran is convinced the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were executed with complete American awareness and collaboration, making faith hard to reestablish.

Dialogue Stays the Final Answer

Araghchi declared: "Tehran was not the one that had deserted dialogue; it was the United States and the European states that had consistently sought to enforce their will during the talks. Dialogue can still be active and remains the ultimate resolution to resolve disputes, but its criteria, guidelines and tenets must be followed."

"If they speak to the citizens of Tehran with the tone of dignity and respect, they will get a response in the equivalent language."

Restoration and Recovery

In what is characterized by Iranian officials as the conflict of restoration and recovery, the foreign minister said he was assured Iran's defence capabilities "are much stronger than preceding 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been rebuilt. We learned multiple understandings from this engagement; we have discovered our personal limitations and the shortcomings of the opponent."

He continued: "We managed to survive this engagement. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to eliminate, remains in place. The facilities and gear, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is essential is the determination of the citizens of Tehran and then the national cohesion that they targeted, but were unable to shatter. The nation of Iran have become stronger, more cohesive, and more endorsing of the leadership and the state in the aftermath of this attack."
