Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match winning streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the international break, however will the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
For week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's new record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Football and Family Experiences
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be managing their Saturday football team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.
It smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was previously that team's manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were considered one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season began, but they have surprised a several people under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.
My son advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.
Fulham have got plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing to do to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the end of October.
But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been decent at home this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
