Swedish Squad Announcement: Isak Named Whereas Gyokeres Omitted
Viktor Gyokeres joined the Gunners after leaving Sporting in July
Gunners striker Viktor Gyokeres has been omitted in Graham Potter's maiden Swedish national team selection, while Liverpool forward Alexander Isak received inclusion
The Arsenal forward is scheduled for further assessments in the coming days following concerns he suffered a hamstring injury in the Gunners's Premier League win against the Clarets on Saturday
The 27-year-old sat out the Gunners' European victory versus Slavia Prague on Tuesday
Alexander Isak Returns
Isak, who has been sidelined since 22 October because of a groin problem, has been chosen to play in World Cup qualifying matches against the Swiss team (15 November) plus Slovenia (November 18th)
Other Premier League Inclusions
- Spurs midfielder the young talent, working his way back after a head knock
- Newcastle wide player Anthony Elanga
Both athletes were included in the England-based players chosen by former multiple English clubs boss Graham Potter
Potter's Appointment
The English manager took over by Sweden originally temporarily in late October, less than four weeks following leaving from West Ham
Former manager Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired following the national team's setback against Kosovo on 13 October, an outcome that ended automatic qualification from Group B unattainable
Present Standing
Sweden are currently last place in Group B having only a single point from four matches
Should they don't manage to finish second, there remains a chance they might participate in the secondary qualification because of their results in the latest UEFA competition
