The Reform UK leader Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that educators would initiate walkouts shortly after a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “poisoning our kids” by telling children that black pupils are victims and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They promote this negative culture.”

Reacting to these assertions, Daniel Kebede rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. Neither I nor our union – advocate such divisive theories as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “All I want education to do to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in both Britain and America.”

The party has conflicted with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … an individual intent that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He stated organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is vital for well-being and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
