The Streaming Giant Chooses Perfect Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Season 3

Baroque Works is poised to exert significant influence in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until season 3, and a beloved, popular member has recently been selected.

Netflix announced this week that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bentham. The role can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of any person they’ve touched with their right hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that character reinterpreted as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the initial comic and cartoon version.

Escola is joined by several other recently announced actors tasked with bringing the group to the screen, including leader Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and an accomplished actor, who will appear as the lineup as the monarch of the desert kingdom.

Although the role is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t appear until One Piece the upcoming installment. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this represents a notable change in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest additional alterations to the plot development.

Escola’s blend of precise humor and profound feeling makes them a perfect fit for the part. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and multiple awards for writing and starring in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece program is set to return for its next installment on March 10th, 2026.
