Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Has Passed Away in a California Traffic Collision

The co-creator of Call of Duty, who helped create the globally famous first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a car accident in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the video game company which he helped establish.

The renowned game designer lost his life when his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a freeway in the Los Angeles area on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is a devastating loss, and we stand with his family and friends, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," an official with Electronic Arts commented.
